We are an independent agency of the government of Manitoba, responsible for administering the Human Rights Code. If you are experiencing or have recently experienced discrimination, we can take your complaint and conduct an investigation to determine if there is enough evidence to warrant a hearing. We also offer mediation services throughout the process in an attempt to resolve the issue without a hearing.
If you're part of a public interest group or have a low income, we take pro bono test cases, specifically those involving consumer law, poverty law, environmental law, Indigenous law and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms challenges.
If you have an intellectual disability, we offer an alternative justice program with education and around-the-clock support and supervision for those who have been in conflict with the law. We have residential and day programs available.
